‘personal note, I’m on a boat’ SO Another idea I had was for writing an audio recorder for the routines application where during a todo item you click the personal note button and record a voice message to do with it such as ‘personal note, don’t forget to buy milk, the one with the yellow branding and the cow on it, not the blue on, you always buy the blue one, stupid girl’ then save it as milk.ogg or something, in a ‘buy milk’ note or whatever. Maybe as part of my organiser application.

gst-editor I downloaded the source and was working on gst editor asking Jan to help me get started. Now to help he has completely taken over and has gotten it back to working with goocanvas and it’s all fancy, the smart boy, not sure how I feel about being one upped…..

what first? I think I’ll start writiing my finance app using python and gtk and whatnot. I just need to learn all these technologies from scratch but it’ll keep me entertained and help me not waste these next 5.5 weeks as we’re moving away. While drunk in Birmingham I used my laptop as a touch screen and drew some ideas in the gimp:

My handwriting is appalling but it was a nice way to get it all out of my head quickly and it’s nice to finally use the feature that I bought my laptop for… I hope to update in the next week saying I’ve got a basic python app going and that I’m confident I can work through the list of features I have in mind for the home finances project, maybe I can even do Augusts budget using it??
